It's junk now, so who knows - they may put it back. However, would you really want to put a 20% Enchanting mod on a 'junk' sword? I'm sure the +5 Energy mods won't be too hard to come by in the future.

Anyone thought that Anet did this so people who had spent 100's of plat on the HoD sword could try to get some of it back. Seeing as most people with an HoD sword read forums. I find it hard to beleive that +5 energy swords started dropping by accident.

They will be very useful I'm sure, now that they seem to have branced out from just the HoD sword to being identifiable by all classes across all weapons.

Why? Anet made the HoD availeble for 1K not up to them that ppl inflated the price by 3000%

that's cool.. the +5 energy does help quite a bit in certain builds- and the hod prices were a little high for the average guy

Default HOD Sword: Suddenly Worthless??

With the addition of the new +5 energy upgrade, the HOD sword might become worthless. (If I'm wrong about that, everything below is just rant)

I, like many other people held on to my HOD sword that I crafted when that was still possible, because I knew that this item is truly unique, and is worth at least 300k. I never wanted to sell it, and wouldnt sell it, but at least I knew that I have something that can give me a lot of gold if I suddenly go broke.

Now, I feel like someone STOLE 300k from me. That is hardly fair. They could have at least warned us in advance!
What are you doing to me Anet?
You think this is fair? You think that now I'm finally "equal" with all those who dont have a HOD? What about all those who sold their HODs for 300k+???
Let's delete that amout from their accounts!

PS: All those jealous HOD haters with fiery flame spitters who say HOD sux:
PLEASE, DONT START!

Well, you took a risk in keeping it instead of selling it before the time came. I guess this is your own fault, and if anet warned everyone in advance about the HoD swords, then noone would want to buy them.

There were warning signs. The threads about FPE dropping them and also having a new HoD vendor even though he wasn't selling them at that time. I'm still rather suprised the prices didn't start falling after that but instead went up I payed attention to the signs and sold mine 2 weeks ago.

ive said it once, i'll say it again

The HoD sword was horrendously unbalanced, not because of the +5 energy mod, it was unbalanced because only the rich could use them. now this adversly affected pvp, you could have an extra +5 energy in your negative set, a hugely unfair advantage. in PvE, well there was no advantage there, a FFS was almost universally better.

You knew this, you knew there was an imbalance. the only way to fix this was to remove them completly, or to add them back in.

you used your money to gain an unfair advantage in PvP,if you spent 300K on a sword, that everybody knew was a balance issue, and didnt expect a nerf down the road, then you really arnt the sharpest tool

#1 you lost nothing if you crafted it. maybe 1K ?

#2 if you used it ever, you got your moneys worth and then some

#3 there has been plenty of warning that this was coming

Can anyone confirm this? If so, then I'm glad I still have my HoD for PvE...

Agreed.
If you bought it from HOD crafter and used it, you lost nothing.
If you bought it from others to use, it still worth its price while you played in Prophecies.
If you bought it to sell for a higher price, that is something you must face in business.

2)Ehhh... all i got right now in my stash is a lousy 230k.... never had above that ever

3) Not true
